One Decent Weekend

Well, i'll start with.... Eli came home!!! haha.. yes! I'd been awaiting that moment for months now. And then, on Friday he came home. So, on Saturday there was a meeting at Philadelphia house ( the Brayleys ). But... before that... i thought " hey, my hair is getting kinda' long " and so me being broke... called Dyaln; who lives down the street. And asked him if he'd give me his best shot at a haircut... well.... it was interesting.. first we were gonna do it inside.. then outside... and then i realized i had good clothes on.. so we agreed on outside... topless.... ( this was one of those windy days... ) brrr.. it was a tad bit chilly.

But believe it or not.. Dylan did a very nice job.. not too bad at all.. i trimmed a bit myself when i got home, but overall Dylan did a good job. So, then that night i headed off to the Brayley house, to where i finally got to see my brother Eli! And another bonus.. i got to meet Miles; one of the preachers on Eli's team... and now a good friend of Eli's. So, long story short... i found Adam there... and well.. we were there until 1:30 in the morning worshiping on the guitar, while Miles played his harmonica. It was a verrrry nice time... too bad i had to be up by 6 the next morning.

So, Sunday, i headed to Cambridge Narrows with the worship band from my church. We went to one of many small country churches up there. It was nice.. but then after the service.. they invited us to a POTLUCK! whoohooo. some pretty good food. it was enough to please me. By force.. i even got to try some new goodies.... i can't remember what it was called.. but it was ok.. i guess.

Then Monday, ( we had school off ) so, i went to work. My uncle took me on for a day. We went out the Hanwell rd. to a house with very high ceilings; we were doing a cultured stone job on the fireplace ( stonework ). And then, after work.. i went to Boston pizza for Liz's 17th b-day. I'll say.. it's really expensive there.. ( i still owe money to people... ) but..i know it cost a lot. ( since i'm still in debt ) And man oh man... i have NEVER had to wait so long for food... we were there over an hour.. just waiting... AGH! i was so impatient after a day of work.. and then no food... but finally it came... and i devoured it. I actually got so bored waiting.. i took a picture of my empty plate... and then i got so excited when the food came.. well.. i had to take a picture of that!
This is actually me.. looking at the bill.... astonished...

But it was a good time, lots of laughing... especially when Liz opened what i got her... haha... anyone remember those stuffer bears we had when we were kids... you could draw on them, and then throw them in the washer to clean them... well... that's what i got her.. as a joke haha.. she liked it though... it even came with an extra pair of glasses.. which we all passed around to try on... they looked pretty good on me i must say...

First Fishing trip of the year

Well, one morning early... about 8am... me and Nick, ( we previously planned this... not that i get up this early on a regular basis. ) we went and drove up to Canadian Tire as soon as they opened and bought our fishing liscenses. Then we got back into the car; half asleep, and i gave directions to a spot that'd we'd hit first. We went to Marysville to go fishing, to a place which once was called ' the point ' for a reason.. now it's more or less a cove... erosion from the ice every year has worn down the point, and where the point was, is now an island in the middle. So, we walked down to the place we thought it would be best to start fishing, we waded through the long dead grass. Finally we got to a nice place, where the hill wasn't so steep ( i got some good pictures. ) And then i put a worm on my hook and started the great hunt! Nick decided to try some fancy looking rubber thing.... ( i thought it looked kinda funny... ) We waited... and waited... and waited... Nothing. So, then we switched sides... and well.. guess who was the first to catch a fish? ME! hahahaha. yeah, that's right. The guy with the cheaper rod and who was only using a worm, caught the one and only fish. It was a bass, not too bad of a size as you'll see in the picture. So, after that, it seemed as if the clouds were closing in, so we packed up, and drove back to my house where i made some KD. This is the story of the first fishing trip of the year.. i'll keep you posted!

Hey..i stumbled accross these Keith Green quotes... that i acutally had never seen before. Whoa!, what juicy things he had to say in his time.

- “If your heart takes more pleasure in reading novels, or watching TV, or going to the movies, or talking to friends, rather than just sitting alone with God and embracing Him, sharing His cares and His burdens, weeping and rejoicing with Him, then how are you going to handle forever and ever in His presence...? You'd be bored to tears in heaven, if you're not ecstatic about God now!”

- "I'd rather have people hate me with the knowledge that I tried to save them."

- "All roads lead to the judgment seat of Christ."
And actually, here's the link to the site. It's really great, you can choose the author... and it'll bring up all these sweet quotes... C.S. Lewis has atleast 2 pages. http://www.christianquotes.org/search.php

Winter Wildness... without snow?

Yes. This is a bus that went into the ditch down the road.
This is a sand truck at the end of my street... looks like he didn't make the turn; and the ice got him.

Pretty nuts eh!?

once upon a night so clear

well the other night FHS had it's anual Christmas Formal... now i didn't go to the dance... but i certainly went to diner with friends after! Whoa! Haha, so 11:00 comes around.. and i'm wondering what to wear... because i didn't want to be too formal... cause' that's not me. So i threw on a long sleeved shirt, some jeans and my tweed suit jacket. Now.. i won't say i did fit in... or that i didn't. haha. But i was definately unique! So we all sat down and i was feelin' like something a bit different, so i ordered some breakfast! whoa! it was good. Some eggs and bacon... and it seemed like some people couldn't stay away from my food... so eventually a couple of the others ordered breakfast. Anyways, all in all a enjoyable meal... and from what i heard... the dance was ok.

Friday Night Drop-in!

I posted earlier in the year about the youth group at my church, but now... this is this years. Not much difference. But this night we had a jam and luckily Jenna took some pictures. We had a great nigh of playing shuffle butt. For those of you who don't know what that is, it's when the leader calls out Left or Right and you have to keep shuffling before the one person in the middle tries to get your chair... and since i don't pay attention too often... i can easily get put in the middle. Other than that we played a few more games and had a light snack that Emma prepared ( popcorn ) haha. And Then me and the musical youth jammed some more; and we did a few switches of instruments too! But before we knew it parents were showing up to pick up the youth.

Overall a good night!
